Ways to kill time

Ways to kill time (what I did tonight):

Facebooking
  1. In the search column, type your own name and see the faces who share the name with you.
  2. Go to your restaurant in Restaurant City(if you played this game) and just look at how the restaurant operates. How the chefs cook, how the waiters serve and how the customers eat or complain. They are cute!
  3. Play some game which you can challenge your friends or yourself. Examples: Who has the biggest brain, Spot the difference, Typing maniac, etc. Break your own record!
Shopping

I did not go out but stay at home. I shopped online. According to many girls, shopping is therapeutic. Somehow it is true for me too. But this will kill your purse and terrify your another half.

Youtube

Search for anything that comes across your mind. ANYTHING. After finish watching 1 video clip, click on its related links and then continue watching. You can repeat this step for some time. Until you feel bored, search for something different.

Journals

Vivien told me that there is an online journal where we can access to the articles for free! And today is the last day. I should spend my time searching for the articles I needed. Indeed, I spent the least time for this. *guilty*

Going to bed, and telling myself that tomorrow will be a better day. Good night, everyone. Bonne nuit.

The so-called hotdog buns

From another private kitchen.

After those cheesecakes, cupcakes, not-so-successful carrot cakes, chocolate cakes and tiramisu, chocolate walnut cookies, oatmeal raisin cookies and the failed biscotti, here comes another attempt.

The so-called hotdog buns.

Some said it tasted like the bun-like cookies of Popeye, the fast food restaurant. Okay, I admit that I made some mistakes during the process. :(

Wait for my next try!!

A Snacking Night

Szee claimed that yesterday was his last day of lecture during his uni life, so he was in charge of everything and I had no rights to question where were we going to have dinner.

We arrived at Sunway Pyramid.

Hot & Roll

We wanted to try since quite some time ago, and we finally did. The menu is simple but with many choices.

Sweet fillings

Savoury fillings

And drinks.

Of course I would go for savoury one. I am not a fans of sweet dessert. Besides the fillings, you have a choice of paratha wrap or crispy wrap. We ordered a pizza(with beef pepperoni) paratha wrap and a satay chicken crispy wrap, plus an ice lemon tea.

You can just grab n' go. I prefer the paratha wrap. The sauce of the fillings will cause the crispy one to become soft but not crispy anymore.
Nice, convenient, and...
friendly kakak. ^^

This alone could not be our dinner, of course. Next station,
Pommes Frites, in Asian Avenue located in the mall too. There are nice foods in Asian Avenue, this Pomme Frites is just next to our favourite Korean restaurant.

Belgium fries is their signature dish.

So many choices of dippings!

They serve pasta as well. But both of us were not in pasta mood. So we ordered the Moules Frites (mussels with fries). We had clams instead of mussels. We were given choices for the clams' style, such as original, curry, tom yam, etc... We picked the ultimate style with cream, and white wine.

Tadaa~~

Love it! Fresh hot, nicely cooked, with onions and mushrooms. The clams were just nice, not overcooked like at many other places. The sauce was not too creamy, and flavour was enhanced by the white wine. We really liked it.

Szee's plate

My plate. Hehe.

The regular pot(500g) with white wine, plus a diet coke, the bill was RM20.40. Worth for money!! I feel hungry when look at the photos again...

So two light meals made our dinner. So full and yummy.

Chilly Pan Mee

... continued from previous post.

We had a walk in Low Yat Plaza after our brunch, and then.... We were trapped in the mall by the heavy rain out there. We walked rounds and rounds then we went to Sg Wang and BB Plaza. We were exhausted. In the end we decided to go back home in the rain.

Reached home, wet, cold and tired. After shower, WE FELT HUNGRY. It was just 5.30pm! And we just finished our buffet lunch 3 hours ago! Oh la la~

For dinner, we went to where we had dinner last night. Haha! Another new discovery, but this is good.
Super Kitchen Chilly Pan Mee Restaurant (The 3rd branch)

Clean environment.

Hygienic cutlery.

Last night I had their signature dry pan mee and Szee had the soup pan mee. Today Szee had the dry one, and I tried their curry pan mee.

The curry pan mee. Aiks, my humble phone, blur blur...

Signature dry pan mee. You can add their HOT dried chili as much as you like. Haiz my humble phone, lagi blur...
I like their signature dry pan mee and soup pan mee very much. The curry one was too thick and too 腻 for me. Szee tried a bit of the curry one and said it was the type of curry noodles he likes. I bet if he orders a bowl and finishes it he'll feel the same way as me. We will see during our next visit.

Dry, soup and curry are the only choices. You cannot choose the size of serving, either. They also serve some side dishes such as dumpling soup, wanton soup and Thai style taufu. Choices of drinks are limited too, but every customers there ordered this:
The thirst and FIRE quencher--lime and plum drink

The HQ of this restaurant is located at Jalan T.A.R. somewhere at Chow Kit. It is quite well known at that area.
They have another 4 branches.

Can see? This is at Dataran Sunway, Kota Damansara.

This is the Subang Jaya branch.

Taman Bahagia, PJ. Somewhere at Chow Yang.

This is the one we went, at Kepong, right beside Carrefour.

All the maps are so blur. Sorry lar, my phone is lousy ma.

The price of pan mee ranging from RM5-6. While the lime and plum drink costs us RM2.

Now only I realize that 2 of us are like pan mee-lovers, we've tried pan mee at so many places... Maybe one day I shall introduce 1 by 1 here. Our top 10 pan mee restaurants. Haha.

Yaki-Yaki Japanese BBQ Buffet (October Promotion)

Today is a not-so-boring day. We went to a new place for brunch.
It's not a new place, though. It's 'new' because we never been there before.

Yaki-Yaki Japanese BBQ Buffet Restaurant@Jalan Bukit Bintang. Next to Low Yat Plaza.

The restaurant is currently having a promotion until end of the month. The buffet lunch and hi-tea is only RM28.90++ on weekdays. That's why we were going. I even made reservation 1 day before. Once we reached I realized that the reservation might be unnecessary. There were lots of seats and only a few tables were occupied.

Before we started, the waitress told us that our promotional price didn't include salmons and oysters. If other choices like scallops, prawns, sashimi, etc (according to what i'd read from other food bloggers) were available, it's so reasonable even without salmons and oysters! I thought.

I didn't bring my camera. Just snapped a few with my humble phone.

Quite dark dining environment. Cannot be seen clearly from the photos. Aiks my humble phone.

The stove with red-hot charcoal inside.

It was the red flame but it turned blue in the photo. Aiks, my humble phone.

My invention--BBQ edamame. ;P

Honestly, both of us were disappointed. The choices were so pathetic! Maybe I thought it's almost the same with Tenji or Jogoya. But it wasn't. Or maybe they downgraded the food choices for the promotion period. Eventhough they have 4 different sections for the BBQ materials, but for us the food was almost the same. Just that the chicken, pork or fish were marinated with different sauces. There were only a few prawns and we didn't see any scallops! Vege were limited too, only a few mushroom skewers and some green peppers.

The sushi and sashimi section. Did I see any sashimi? I couldn't recall but Szee said he saw a little. The sushi choices were not many but some of them looked cute.

This section is similar in other Japanese buffet restaurants. You put your table number in the goblet next to the desired dish, and the waiter will serve to your table.

An almost invisible section. The Japanese pancakes. I tried it before at somewhere else, hot and nice. These were cold.

Desserts. The fresh cut fruits didn't look nice, so we didn't take any.
They do not have Haagan-Dazs but they serve Baskin Robins.

So many handmade mochi.

Cakes and jellies.

We were quite disappointed by the drinks section too. All the 'fake' juices. No coconuts! There was a counter with a few glasses of sample mocktails. I ordered the combination of orange and pineapple juice. The waiter took out a large jar of juice, stirred and poured into a glass then passed it to me! I thought the juice will be freshly squeezed after I ordered. ;(

I am not sure whether this is the quality of promotional food or it's the quality of Yaki-Yaki. Okay maybe the food and choices were there, but just didn't suit us. Szee said, "I rather go to Seoul Garden in 1U!" Yup we had a good time in there, with student price. We had steamboat, grilled food and even created our own stir-fry recipe.

We walked out from the restaurant at 2.30pm in disappointment.

To be continued...

Meatballs! Meatballs!!! Meatballs

Tropicana City Mall
