I Love U Shabu-Shabu @ Puchong

It was an ordinary working day. Szee and I decided to have something extraordinary as dinner. We arrived at Puchong after 1 hour traffic jam from PJ.

The name of the restaurant is I Love U Shabu-Shabu. Right next to the new wing of IOI mall, with very attractive yellow shop sign, it's pretty easy to locate the place.

It's a combination of shabu-shabu, buffet and sushi restaurant concept. Don't understand? Let pictures tell the story.

一人RM26.80。开心的是:完全没有额外收费,如政府税和服务费。

一成不变的生活令人疲惫。有时候吃不单是为了填饱肚子,也是一种乐趣。有空可以来玩一下。

Vivo @ Times Square, Kuala Lumpur

I haven't finished my talking about last Saturday. While waiting for the redemption booth to be ready, we took a walk in the mall, thought of having lunch since it was already noon time. Then we found this restaurant at the LG floor. We went to Vivo at The Curve for a couple of times and had very good dining experience there. So among all the restaurants in Times Square, we picked this. ;)

I like their promotion very much. Usually restaurants offer special promotions only for weekdays, but see what we have here: Weekends Special! Free one Power Juice (worth RM7.80) with the purchase of 10" or 13" pizza.

Mushroom soup.
Nothing special, but for the price of RM3.90, ok lar.

The complimentary juice. I had Tropical Swing, i.e. mango + orange.

Our favourite Vivo pizza-- Bed of Mushroom.
Lots of fresh mushroom slices, together with almond flakes and cream cheese chunks, sleeping on the bed of mozzarella cheese and pesto sauce. The pesto sauce gave a hint of herbal aroma to it. Flavourful and appetizing. The one we had was thin crust, but as you can see from the photo, it wasn't very thin actually. I never try their thick crust before, but the thin is just nice for us. Crunchy outside and chewy inside!

Creamy Mushroom Spaghetti. RM10.80
Again, lots of fresh shitake mushrooms in creamy tomato sauce. Warm, smooth and mouthwatering. Yummy!

Just realized that our lunch was so mushroomy. Plus a cup of hot peppermint tea, the meal was around RM41.

Vivo serves food that suits almost everyone. From chicken to salmon, from pizza to tiramisu; you choose. All food are halal, and there are plenty of choices for vegetarian. Everything we ordered was actually vegetarian food. Their branch in Times Square is spacious and with more sofa seats, but for no reason I prefer The Curve branch, maybe feels more friendly? Unknown.

Remember to fill up the comment form upon your visit. Previously I did and in return I received a RM5 voucher. :)

Interested? Click on the logo below for their website.

p/s: Dear look at the quality of the photos... I wanna get a camera la... *sob sob*

So you know what we did last Saturday

Remember this? So Szee and I went to the Gatsby Deodorant Street Fair at Times Square last Saturday.

Look at the crowd~ This event is getting into the Malaysia Book of Records for the Largest Bloggers' Gathering with over 500 bloggers!

Yes, we were given a t-shirt for each of us to be put on for the activities.

Some of the games that we played...
Shooting

Fishing
Golfing
We both were sucks in this.
Hit the peanut when it rolls out from the hole. This is really hard!

Unscrew the nuts and put the tyre on the floor within 30 seconds.

Make sure you don't fall from the bull for 20 seconds! Sounds easy huh?
For each game that we won, we will get 2 Gatsby points which could be used to redeem some prizes afterward.
The Gatsby products that we redeemed. Should have play more games if we knew earlier that these Gatsby points were for redeeming Gatsby products!

We really had fun. Thanks to Gatsby and Nuffnang!

Food! Foood!! Foooood!!! @ Kuala Belait, Brunei

Since I received complaint from David saying that I put too many photos of food here, I decided to put more. I mentioned to many friends that Japanese food in Brunei was superb. Here are some of the photos, enjoy~

The restaurant we went. They have a few branches in Brunei, and we went to Kuala Belait branch which is the nearest to Miri.

Mini maki. Their mini was not mini at all.

Mini salmon roll.

Inari sushi with soft shell crab. Couldn't see the crab in this photo, it was wrapped in the inari. Their normal sized sushi were gigantic!

Selina and Ming Ching ordered this, so I didn't know what it is. Perhaps avocado and prawn rolls?

Their sushi were simply amazing. They were generous enough with their material, fresh and bountiful, to ensure their customers enjoy the best quality of food. The sushi rice balls were dense and packed, wouldn't break into pieces like some other restaurants serve.

And the best was...

The salmon!

Look at how thick these raw salmon slices were?

And it's only for B$ 15. Unbelievable!

I must tell you that I am not a fans of raw salmon. Usually I don't order salmon sushi, I would just have one at most if Szee orders. So just one thin slice, at most. I really didn't like the raw fish. BUT the salmon here was awesome!!! Together with wasabi, the combination was superb. Yes, even their wasabi was different. More flavour and less pungent. Woohoo~

Temaki (hand rolls) is the must-try whenever I visit to Japanese restaurants. When I flipped through the menu, I was surprised that all temaki were sold at B$3.80. That was cheap! Since I'd tasted the legendary salmon so I ordered one with salmon and unagi.

Tadaa~ Look at it! Its size was slightly bigger than usual temaki that you can get in usual Japanese restaurants. Salmon roe, thick slices of raw salmon together with a long strip of unagi.

As you can see, whole temaki was stuffed with filling but not only the top. Best temaki I ever had! Bravo!!

Here were some side dishes that we had~

Baby octopus. Even those who feels yucky towards octopus would love it.

Grilled cod fish with teriyaki sauce. I like cod fish!! Just nice and not overcooked, juicy and tender.

Chawanmushi. Smooth and flavourful.

Miso soup. See those little mushrooms in the soup? So cute...

Enoki mushrooms. We all thought that it was a bit too sweet, so Michael finished it by his own. He really liked it.

The meal cost us around B$60. Even if you convert it into Malaysia ringgit, you can hardly get the same quality of food.

Since I came back from Brunei till now I refuse to have Japanese food in KL. The one I had in Brunei was unforgettable. Deepest appreciation to the couple, Michael & May. Must be my tour guide again when I visit to Miri and Brunei in the future!

Looking forward to the next visit. ;)
