I am not a Tooth Fairy. He is.

Yesterday was my father's birthday. After he blew the candle, cut the birthday cake and we tasted the cake, Szee and I rushed to 1 Utama. Reached within 15 minutes from my home, cool huh?

Thanks to Nuffnang, for giving us the complimentary Premier Screening of Tooth Fairy. We were late but still on time. The movie started at 9pm, that was the time we arrived. So we did not have choices for the seats, i.e. the first row from the screen.

The whole cinema hall was bursting out laughing almost throughout the movie. It's not like any other comedies, all the funny parts were already shown in trailers. The audiences (including us) even clapped for a few scenes which were amazingly laughable.

My favourite character in the movie-- Tracy the Tooth Fairy case worker

I didn't know Julie Andrews was also acting in the movie. Surprised~

In short, this is really an enjoyable movie. If you are having a pressured urban working life, spend two hours in the cinema for this movie, it's stress- relieving. Hope you'll like it too.

An inspiration from this movie: The first step to make your dream come true is to have a dream.

Being cheated?

You often see online advertisements of part time job as freelance data entry, interested and wanna have a try? Here I share with you my experience.

Many months ago I saw some part time jobs posted in forums. Freelance data entry, sounds good. Can work from home or even office, anytime. Detailed information of the job was not posted, you are required to send an email to the post author and he/she will tell you the details. So I sent an email, no harm trying right? Soon the author replied, telling that I had to pay RM80 as deposit to make sure that I was really willing to commit myself to this job. RM80? If I could pay that amount I wouldn't want to look for part time job. So I ignored the email.

Last 2 weeks I discovered a part time job website. I could not take most of the jobs since I am working in UM during office hours, Monday to Friday. So I only considered freelance jobs. Again, there were many data entry positions available. Once again, I emailed the person-in-charge to get more information about it. Here is part of the reply I got:

The position for Home Based Data Entry that you inquired about does require you to have a computer with
email access. Printers are not at all required but can be helpful. You can begin working FT or PT; the choice is up to you. You will need minimal typing skills for this position. You will be processing orders from your own computer via your email. This work from home opportunity will make you real money. You will not have to contact anyone; you will be contacted through your email. Now you must be willing to work as with any job, and it does require some time and effort to be successful. You will be paid RM20.00 for each order you process.
There is a "One Time Fee" of RM20.00 to begin. This is the cost of the Training Materials. The Training Materials give you the step-by-step instructions on how YOU get started. When you receive your Training Materials you may begin working that very same day. Once you have processed your first order you will have already made back the cost of your Training Materials. You will receive your training materials through your email. This work from home opportunity is legitimate and how successful you are only depends on the time and effort you put in. I am here to help you get started and answer any questions that you may have. If you are serious, and are willing to put forth some time and effort, then I look very forward to hearing from you again.

Sounds interesting? I hesitated whether to spend the RM20. I clearly understood that this might be just a cheat. By paying RM20 I would either learn a lesson or start earning some money. I considered it for a few days and Szee knew it was bothering me. He said he would pay for it and asked me to try.

After I transferred the money into the given bank account, in return I received something in my email account.

Congratulation that you are selected to this job.
You can started work today. Good luck!

and others, about how to get other people into this job. Suggestions to promote your 'business'. They have email templates to be sent to your clients (just like what I've received), advertisement templates, lists of websites and free classifieds to advertise your 'business'. "The more ads you put, the more money you make", according to them.

Now I understand the operation of this 'business'.
You will not have to contact anyone; you will be contacted through your email. Now you must be willing to work as with any job, and it does require some time and effort to be successful. You will be paid RM20.00 for each order you process. This is not about data entry. The time and effort required is not typing but is to post up advertisements, and for each fool who responses (like me) you will get RM20, then you will send them the 'training materials' to get their jobs started.

So now you know what is it about. If you feel that I was being cheated, I would rather say that I learned a lesson.

p/s: To dear, sorry for your RM20... I buy you something else la ok? ;p

A cheezy and creamy Monday

After came back from Kota Bharu I don’t really wanna rice as my meal. I am not that type of person who must has rice in every meal. I would rather go for noodles or other food, preferably. But the week in KB I had rice every day. At least once per day.

So for dinner last night I opted for something else. Craved for mushroom soup and cheese. I heard that the Italian restaurant in SS2 serves very nice mushroom soup and Szee agreed to have a try. We were so happy to find a parking space right in front of the restaurant, and the following second we found that the restaurant was not open. Joy turned into disappointment in just one second.

At last we turned up in 1 Utama. Heading to New York Deli. Our first time since it opened long time ago. I also heard about the bravo-ness of its mushroom soup.

Roasted Mushroom Cappuccino

Mushroom chunks in cream broth but not too creamy. Even nicer when a pinch of coarse black pepper was added. That was the way Szee likes it. I would prefer richer ones. ;p

Beef Lasagna

Really really cheesy! Got the right thing to fulfill my lust. I managed to finish the whole lasagna! Must start to reduce my diet from now onwards.

Tagliatelle Mushroom Alfredo with Crispy Fish

Creamy! But you won't feel it's fattening. Most of the creamy pasta are just creamy without any other taste. This one was tasty. Szee who doesn't really like thick and creamy stuff indeed enjoyed it very much. The crispy fish was not dory fillet, we didn't know what was it. Butterfish? The texture of the fillet was quite different from what we usually have. Special.

Root Beer Float with Vanilla Ice Cream

For drinks I ordered Dark Strawberry, so-called "their very own chocolate velvet and strawberry". But it was not the same as expected, and I didn't like it. So I didn't take any photo of it.

Thanks to dear for the dinner. It's nice to have the food you wanted so much, right in front of you.

By the way, Chinese New Year is just around the corner. CNY decorations in progress. Szee said the 招财猫 looked like panda, while I said rabbit. What do you think?

I'm a tooth fairy!

Yes, if you all don't know, I am actually a tooth fairy. Don't believe me? Watch this...

I take the tooth from children, in return I'll leave them some gifts instead of money. I usually give something they can use to keep their teeth healthy and clean. Cute toothbrush, special toothpaste, or some other tooth products e.g. the whitener in the video above. I would love to see every child has good oral health.

If you wonder why there are no wings on me, I'll tell you why. I am an evolved tooth fairy who have no wings, because the wings might accidentally wake the children up when I am getting close to them in order to pick their tooth. The wings will make noise as they are moving, and I do not want to interrupt the kids' sweet dreams. So I evolved into what you've seen.

To accomplish my mission the only gadget that I need would be a teleporter which enables me to travel from a place to another, silently. Since I do not have wings, I'll just 'pop out' in the sleeping children's bedroom. Yup, you've seen the video, that's how I 'pop out'.

So now you believe that I'm a tooth fairy? Tell me if your children have fallen out baby tooth. I will give them surprise!

p/s: I reveal this secret of me for the Nuffnang Special Screening-Tooth Fairy.
Special thanks to David & Veni!
